TEHRAN – Iranian police on Sunday shot dead 9 members of the rebel group PEJAK in the northwestern city of Urmia.

PEJAK (Party of Free Life of Kurdistan), which is allied to Turkish Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), has been behind a string of deadly attacks in Iran in recent months.
The terrorists included seven Turkish nationals and two Iranians. A wounded rebel also managed to flee to Turkey, Colonel Shahnam Rezaii told the Mehr News Agency
